NDG Choppers had to cancel this past Saturday's game against the Shockers which, in PTM, is an automatic forfeit. Shockers will gladly take the freebie as they are trying to sneak up closer and closer to 500 hockey.
"It's never fun to not play hockey but at this point we'll take a win anyway we can get it," commented Francois Hamelin.
NDG Choppers surcame to a dissappointing conclusion late in the week leading up to the game that they would not have enough players dressed for the game.
Shockers who are now 4-5-0 and sit in 8th place will have be ready for an intense game against the Stealth Assassins (5-3-1) this coming Thursday. Already, the Shockers have been out of action for about a week and a half so there might be a bit of a rust factor especially to those who have not been able to attend the optional practices the team has been holding. But, the Shockers might be catching the Assassins at a rough time as they have been 0-2-1 in their last 3 games whereas the Shockers are 2-1-0 in their last 3. Regardless, if the Shockers can come out strong like they did against Subzero, we'll have an interesting game, but if they come out of the gates like they did against the Kennedy Crew, forget it, they might as well stay home.
Carlo Varano will still be out and is likely to miss the rest of the season, Frankie Ortuso has yet to report in on his groin injury, Alain Godard is back in the line-up but Giancarlo Capaz will be a big question mark to start as he is still battling his four-season long flu-like symptoms.
Next game: Thursday @ 10:30pm vs. the Stealth Assassins on the big surface at the Sports XPO.
Check back soon as this week's edition of 10 Q's will be answered by none other than Giancarlo "Juan Luis Bodega Santa Maria Del Cullo de Buitre" Capaz.
